A variety of circumstance have taken their toll on the reliability of commercial fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. Among them are population density, global warming, agricultural run off, vehicular pollution, shellfish diseases, administrative restrictions, unpredictable weather patterns, and biological growth cycles.
